The detail
What Tapee Tea Is
Tapee Tea is a traditional Thai herbal tea made from fifteen botanicals — roots, barks, spices, flowers and herbs — finely ground and sealed into individual gold-foil teabags. It is naturally caffeine-free, with no added sugar and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, and every one of the fifteen botanicals is named on the pack.
The blend is prepared and packed in Thailand, following a recipe rooted in Thai tea tradition. One golden teabag brews one cup: a deep red-amber infusion, woody and earthy, with a warm spice finish.
Why Powder-Filled Teabags?
Instead of coarse-cut herbs, each teabag contains the fifteen botanicals ground to a fine, soluble powder. You empty it straight into hot water and stir, so the whole blend goes into the cup instead of staying behind in a bag.
- Full, round flavor and aroma, ready with a stir
- All of the blend in the cup, none left behind in a bag
- No measuring, no strainer — one bag, one cup
Full Ingredient List — All 15 Botanicals
Every botanical in the blend is listed here and named on the pack. Descriptions refer to traditional use in Thai blends and to flavor character only.
| Ingredient | Traditional / Flavor Context |
|---|---|
| Derris scandens | A climbing botanical long used in regional Thai herbal blends |
| Vetiver (Elephant Grass) | An aromatic grass that lends the cup its earthy base notes |
| Kaempferia parviflora (Thai Black Ginger) | A dark Thai rhizome traditional to herbal preparations |
| Sea Holly | A herb that appears in many traditional Southeast Asian blends |
| Cardamom | A fragrant pod spice bringing warm, sweet-aromatic notes |
| Orthosiphon aristatus (Cat’s Whiskers) | A leafy herb familiar throughout Southeast Asian tea culture |
| Goji Berry | A dried fruit that rounds and balances the blend |
| Saul Waeng | A regional Thai botanical from the traditional recipe |
| Sandalwood | An aromatic wood contributing soft, fragrant depth |
| Nutmeg | A warm baking spice that deepens the finish |
| Orange Blossom | A floral note lifting the darker, woodier ingredients |
| Cinnamon | A sweet, warming bark spice |
| Lovage | A savory herb adding depth to the body of the cup |
| Kaempferia galanga | An aromatic Thai rhizome related to ginger and galangal |
| Star Anise | A star-shaped spice with a distinctive, lingering finish |
Ingredient descriptions are provided for general and traditional context only.
Taste & Aroma
Expect a smooth, earthy cup led by vetiver and the rhizomes, layered with warm spice from cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise, and lifted by a light floral thread of orange blossom. The liquor brews to a deep red-amber, with a woody aroma and a gently spiced, herbaceous finish. It drinks well hot, and holds its character poured over ice. For a fuller description, read what Tapee Tea tastes like.
Packaging — What’s Inside Your Pack
Each single-cup portion of the ground fifteen-herb blend is sealed in its own gold-foil teabag. Teabags are packed five to a resealable pouch, and packs are simply multiples of those pouches:
- 50 teabags — 10 pouches
- 100 teabags — 20 pouches
- Every pack size — 25, 50, 75, 100, 150 and 250 — follows the same five-per-pouch format
The number on the pack is the exact count of golden teabags you receive — one teabag per cup, no partial portions.
How to Brew
- Open one golden teabag.
- Empty the powder into about 200 ml of hot water and stir well.
- Let it stand for 2–5 minutes, then stir once more.
- Drink it hot, or cool it down and pour it over ice.
Iced tea, strength and timing are covered in our guide on how to brew Tapee Tea.
If your pack gives different directions, follow those.
Ingredients & Allergens
Tapee Tea contains only the fifteen botanicals listed above. None of the 14 allergens that UK law requires to be declared (such as nuts, milk, gluten-containing cereals, soya or sesame) is used as an ingredient in this blend.
As with any product of natural origin, we cannot guarantee the absolute absence of traces. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before ordering and we will answer your questions about the ingredients and how the tea is packed.
Sold as a herbal tea beverage. We describe this product only by its taste, aroma, ingredients and origin, and make no claims about effects of any kind.
