Tapee Tea teabags are single-cup bags of fifteen Thai botanicals ground to a fine powder, and every one of them is sealed inside its own gold-foil sachet. One bag makes one cup. Nothing to scoop, weigh or spoon into an infuser: you tear a sachet, drop the bag in a mug and add water.
What is inside a Tapee Tea teabag?
Each bag holds the same fifteen-botanical blend, blended and packed in Thailand. There is no Camellia sinensis tea leaf anywhere in it, which makes Tapee Tea a tisane rather than a tea in the strict sense, and it is caffeine-free.
The difference you would notice if you cut a bag open is the grind. A coarsely cut fill shows its pieces plainly: chips of bark, lengths of root, leaf fragments. Ours are milled fine first, closer to a powder than to cut leaf, and then filled. Ground botanicals meet the water across far more of their surface, and the result is a fuller infusion than coarsely cut herbs give you in the same three to five minutes.

Why is every Tapee Tea teabag sealed in gold foil?
This is the most distinctive part of the format, and the whole reason it looks the way it does.
Rather than filling one shared carton with fifty loose teabags, we wrap each bag on its own. The sachets are then grouped five to a resealable pouch, and a pack is simply a number of those pouches — ten of them in the 50-teabag pack, twenty in the 100.
The foil sachet holds one cup’s worth of ground botanicals and stays closed until the moment you want that cup. Only the bag you are brewing is ever opened; the sachet you open on day sixty has stayed sealed since it was packed.
Foil, a seal, and one cup per seal: that is the whole design.
No scooping, no infuser, no measuring
Loose ground botanicals are awkward to brew. You need a spoon, a fine infuser or filter that a powder will not escape through, and a sense of how much is right, and then you need to rinse all of it afterwards. The single-cup bag takes that away. The bag is already filled for one cup, so every cup you make is filled the same way as the last one, whether you are making it at home or standing in a hotel room with a kettle and nothing else.
Brewing one
- Tear open one gold-foil sachet and drop the teabag into a cup.
- Pour 250-300 ml of water just off the boil over it.
- Steep for three to five minutes: shorter for a lighter cup, longer for a deeper one.
- Stir gently before you lift the bag out, which pulls a fuller extraction from the ground botanicals.

It travels flat and light
A sealed sachet is thin and it does not spill. A handful goes into a jacket pocket, a laptop bag or the corner of a suitcase without a tin, a clip or a scoop, and there is no loose powder to find its way through your luggage. A teabag and hot water is the entire kit list, which is the practical argument for the format as much as the sealing is.

The blend runs from Jewel Vine (Derris scandens), the woody backbone, through vetiver, Thai black ginger, sand ginger and sandalwood underneath, to cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise in the finish. What pack sizes does Tapee Tea come in?
Because one teabag is one cup, choosing a pack size is really choosing how many cups you want sealed away in the cupboard. Packs run 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 250 and 500 teabags, and the larger the pack, the less each cup works out at. How long does Tapee Tea take to arrive?
We dispatch from Thailand within one to three business days, and delivery usually takes six to fourteen business days after that, fully tracked the whole way.
